Saturday morning, the Youth City Council had a meeting with the Mayor to discuss the problems encountered last year of operation. Unfortunately, the City Council of Young is not indented in the list of 2008/09 funding for the management of the Council and therefore will not benefit from the € 4,000 required for the completion of its work program this year. This has come to test for a loss of points dealing specifically with the lack of a home independent of the Council then led, the latter to fall into position final ranking. This situation, coupled with a series of misunderstandings and identified with the city administration has led us kids to call this meeting and to submit a letter in which he listed the main problems is eager to solve.
The letter that we decided to make public a quastione of transparency is as follows:
SUBJECT: Problems encountered in the management of the City Council of the Young.
OUR FIRST ISSUE AND 'THE CLARITY IS NOT IN OUR RESPECT THE RIGHTS AND DUTIES THAT ARE BROUGHT TO HAVE AND TO COMPLY:
be "advisors" of the local youth is a great opportunity, but there is nothing but the right knowledge of administrative and institutional aspects in which the councils in which young people move and especially if there is no self-knowledge , what are their rights, their duties, functions, real Council and its members. Similarly, if there are no such elements, knowledge and belief, the Youth Council may be undue pressure, and be less free in his actions and those that are political powers and institutions with which the Council has to deal with and which may clash.
's why we ask a proper training of the administrative council of the young. This can ensure the front and the other institutions and actors, is well informed of the powers, rights and duties of the City Council of Youth, to be free, and may perform its function in respect of the guys who are called to represent.
The second problem is' NOT DEFINED IN THE OFFICE:
There are no problems regarding our ability to be a year now to receive our home with a key to the company.
This has become today one of our most important problem.
The Youth City Council does not have a place to set up an archive of written material, has a store where you can place the goods purchased or where to place all the files and structures assigned to us. We do not have a place to start a course of linux for the kids or simply want to find where to do in times of meetings where everyone is given the opportunity to participate in the directors who work. To date, we have to respect the timetable available from the library or request the opportunity to come together to the place of social policy and youth.
We therefore also for the time that will elapse from the end the work of building Zelli to receive, even paying rent, a temporary home.
The third problem is' the distance from the Municipal Administration AGAINST U.S.:
We feel the total distance from the institutions towards us and this distance increases with respect to all young people. This is due to a lack of dialogue and a failure by the institutions in respect of issues affecting young people in our country. There are gaps that need to find a solution.
This is also underlined by the fact that the City Council of the Young or his representative has never been called to come to address problems and discussions on youth policy and as this is required we ask the question in the nearly two years of existence the Council these issues were never addressed.
